Ongoing support for everyday recovery.
Keep working on the progress you are making.
Ongoing outpatient care, sometimes called OP, generally involves a less intensive schedule than IOP. It helps adults continue working on substance use, related mental health concerns, and recovery goals while living outside the program. An assessment guides whether this level is appropriate.

What might I work on in treatment?
Depending on your treatment plan, sessions may include:
- Individual conversations about your goals, challenges, and progress.
- Therapeutic groups to practice coping skills and discuss recovery.
- Learning to recognize triggers and handle cravings, stress, and difficult emotions.
- Working on communication, relationships, and ways to reduce the risk of returning to use.
- Family education or therapy when appropriate for your care.
Your care team explains the services and schedule recommended for you. Current availability and your assessment guide the plan.
How does OP differ from IOP?
IOP provides a more structured treatment schedule. Ongoing outpatient care generally involves a less intensive schedule. The right level of support depends on an assessment, your circumstances, and your treatment needs.
If you are considering continuing care after a more structured program, ask our team how the assessment and transition process works. An assessment informs the recommendation; starting with OP is not appropriate for every situation.
Mental health, recovery, and family connection
ORS brings substance use and mental health concerns into the conversation. Ask about support for co-occurring concerns and how family education and therapy may fit into your care.
We welcome inquiries from people seeking care, their loved ones, and referring professionals across Ventura County. You do not need to have every question answered before calling.
Schedules, insurance, and admissions
ORS offers onsite and virtual care. Contact our team to confirm the services, schedule, and openings available for ongoing outpatient treatment. Our office hours are Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Your care team will review your treatment schedule with you.
We can help verify your commercial insurance benefits. Ask about network status, any out-of-network benefits your plan offers, and anticipated costs before care begins.

Is outpatient care right for me?
ORS provides outpatient care for adults. It does not include overnight housing, onsite medical detox, or emergency care. If a different level of care is needed, discuss appropriate next steps with the team.
