How is IOP different from PHP?
IOP and partial hospitalization are both outpatient levels of care, so treatment does not include an overnight stay. PHP generally involves a more intensive daytime schedule. IOP offers structured support with more room for activities outside treatment.
You do not need to choose a program on your own. Contact ORS to discuss the assessment process and how a recommendation is made.
What is partial hospitalization?Insurance and your first conversation
We can help verify benefits for commercial insurance plans, including whether your plan offers out-of-network benefits. Call to discuss network status and anticipated costs before care begins.

How long will I be in IOP?
There isn’t one timeline that fits everyone. Your care team considers your needs, goals, and progress when planning treatment with you. We’re happy to explain what participation may look like and how your ongoing needs are reviewed.
Does IOP include housing?
IOP involves coming in for treatment and returning to your living setting afterward; it does not include housing. If you have questions about your living situation, please bring them up when you call so we can better understand your needs.
Can I ask about treatment for someone else?
Absolutely. It can be difficult to know how to help someone you care about, and you’re welcome to start by asking questions. Families, loved ones, and referring professionals can call us to learn about the program and admissions process.

Is outpatient care right for me?
ORS provides outpatient care for adults. It does not include overnight housing, onsite medical detox, or emergency care. If a different level of care is needed, discuss appropriate next steps with the team.
You do not need to decide on a program yourself. Call to ask about an assessment, current services, and the recommended level of support.
